Once you have registered, you will be given the option to complete the Whales in Our Waters tutorial online or offline. It is not possible to transfer your progress between the online and offline tutorials: please choose the tutorial option that will provide the most reliable and consistent access.
If you choose the offline tutorial, you will be asked to download the training portion of the tutorial. Once the tutorial modules have been completed, you will be given access to the final quiz which is only available online. There is no designated timeframe between when you complete the offline tutorial and when you write the quiz. Once you have completed and passed the final quiz, you will receive a certificate of completion.
Note: The downloadable version of the Whales in Our Waters tutorial can be run from any Windows operating system. It will not run on Mac operating systems.
You can access the online tutorial here.
If you have completed the online tutorial, the quiz questions are built into each section of the course. You will receive the certificate of completion upon completion of the last module.
If you have completed the offline tutorial, you will be given online access to the final quiz once you have completed the five training modules.
If you are taking the online version of the tutorial and have received an 80% passing grade on the quizzes in the module, you will be granted your certificate automatically upon completion.
If you are taking the offline tutorial, you will be granted your certificate automatically upon receiving an 80% or higher passing grade on the final quiz.
Your certificate can always be accessed from your My Courses page.
